The development of art and
application of scientific knowledge to the
administration of anesthetics has made
modern surgery possible. Anesthesiology is
the direct application of physiology and
pharmacology to the practice of medicine.
The purposes of Department of Anesthesiology
are many.
Instructions are given in
administration and management of all types
of general and local anesthesia for surgical
procedures. Skill in resuscitation and
airway management are taught.
The teaching of various aspects of
anesthesiology extends through out the
length of clinical training of medical
college.
The Department of anesthesiology feels that
primary obligation to the medical students
is to provide basic information for the
attendance of unconscious patients, to teach
necessary skills for resuscitation.
